Trying to find a game like Conquer Online can be a challenge since the PKing style type of games are usually frowned apon by the gamer community. Not only that but trying to find a game which does not require the most upgraded computer can be a pain as well. But regardless of that fact there is at least one game server for a different game that was made based off of Conquer Online's PKing system which was made by some ex. conquer players.
The name of the server is Existence Ragnarok Online. Keep in mind the game is different style then conquer online such as it does not have jumping although this might save your fingers from having to hold down your control button and also save your control button from brutal abuse. Another thing is their is more classes then what you can find in conquer which means more skills and more ways to play your class. Existence Ragnarok Online is very pvp balanced as well which was not much of a case in Conquer Online. The system of upgrading gear is somewhat different in that your plusing your gear instead of trying to slot it unless your just striving for a more unique style headgear or armor which requires slotting.
Some other things which are different is the style of characters in Existence Ragnarok Online. The characters in Conquer Online are only 2D so you only manage to see one side of the character the world is also 2D. In Existence Ragnarok Online the characters are 2D similar to that of conquer but the world is 3D giving the game a more opened feel. Similar to conquer the game is open world but one of the biggest difference's is the fact that Existence Ragnarok Online has 956 maps and can constantly create new content. Conquer Online is limited to only a small amount of area's which can make it very boring. The amount of quests and things to do is amazing in Existence Ragnarok Online you have many small mini games and quests and dungeons along with more group orientated things to do like Guild vs Guild which happens twice a week. Capture the Flag that can be played at anytime. A Mortal Kombat arena which can be played at anytimes and is also used for events. And the big holiday events which leaves everyone with tons of amazing items and challenging boss fights.
Some things that you will not find in the game are things such as the imbalanced item mall. While there is a donation shop which does contain items that can be purchased all items drop from there respected monster. Items which have made there way into the item shop first get balanced based on pvp some might get nerfed some might not be offered completely all newer expansion cards for armor, weapon, head, garment, and accessories are not donation items. And some of the older cards have either been added to that list or nerfed to support a balance between donators and non donators. Donation credits can come from different events such as holiday events, Russian roulette, and the daily poring invasion event.
The pvp system is pretty close to conquer with only slight changes. Instead of switching from peace mode to PK mode you have commands which can be used:
@pvpkillon - turns pk on, allowing you to attack anybody within the boundaries. this is enabled by default.
@pvpkilloff - turns pk off. With this off, you wont be able to attack anybody, preventing you from accidentally hurting others with your AoE or accidentally clicking them with an attack.
@karma - shows your current amount of PK points.
@showkarma - Displays when you gain and lose PK points. Also shows a total.
@pvpcapture - Allows you to kill anyone with 100+ PK points without risk of gaining PK points so long as your PK points are 30 or below.
@ally - allows you to talk to your guild allies
There also is an exception you cannot kill anyone who is a novice or class under level 65 for the time being because the server is still new and it was done to allow people to level up before worrying about killed. This might be lowered in the future when the server is more full. Killing people can also be done using certain class pets as well as a hired mercenary which can make things even more interesting.
When you kill someone you gain 1% of what ever money they have on their character and 1% of their experience. After you have killed too much you will get a red ring around your character which other players can see warning them that you've been killing. If you are killed with a red aura you will have a small chance to drop one of your items. Beware that you do not go to jail when killed so someone could revive you and kill you again and again if they choose. If you continue to kill more people the red aura will turn blue at this point you will have a chance to drop more then one piece of gear and the chance is increased some but you will be sent to jail right after being killed. If you still continue to kill more with a blue aura it will turn black and this is the highest aura color when killed you can drop 1-3 pieces of gear at the highest chance and get sent to jail directly.
Drop of points takes 2 minutes per PK point and market and paradise island are the safe zones if you walk into a town other then these maps you will be caught by the guards and set to jail. You can either bribe the jailer to get out or wait until your points return to normal to be released. When a Pker is killed they will lose 2% of their money they are carrying and up to 4% of there experience when they have an Aura.
Another part of the system is the bounty system which takes place automatically when someone kills another player 1% of the money that is lost when a PKer kills a player (aside from what he personally gains) gets added to a bounty system against the PKers name the more he kills the more will be gained against him as a bounty. Other players can take a bounty quest to kill that player and when they do they will receive the money as a reward for killing the PKer and collecting the bounty on his head.
One of the biggest things that is noticeable about Existence Ragnarok Online is that it is playable on all versions of windows not just windows xp like Conquer Online. The client play's very smooth on every operating system with the one exception being Mac which requires parallel's or booting with windows in order to play the game.

Intel Pentium 500 MHz equiv. CPU, 128MB RAM, Internet access, DirectX 7, 8MB graphics card, sound card, 2GB+ hard drive space
You will not have to buy a new computer in order to play all that is needed is to download the game install it, make your account, then login and customize your character and your ready to go.
Existence Ragnarok Online supports dual clienting (opening more then one game window without hacking it) but does not support hacking in any form. Botters and hackers are banned automatically providing a balanced anti-cheat environment that everyone can join.
The best way to decide whether or not you would like Existence Ragnarok Online is trying it out and playing it for yourself.

Conquer Online Overview
Conquer Online is an older 2d game that came out around 2003 orignally the game was chinese only but as time went on they created US servers and the game eventually spread to other parts of the world. The US servers can contain a large mix of players from all parts of the world because there are no restrictions on the Conquer Online servers. The main starting classes used to be only archer, trojan, warrior, and taoist and taoist had the option to choose between fire and water taoist then later on more classes where added which helped to break the pvp balance of Conquer Online.
Conquer Online has always been free to play but it did not always contain an item mall with tons of items for purchase. Orignally the game only had one buyable item called Dragon Balls these where used to upgrade the quality of weapons, level weapons past 120 and also to make sockets in weapons. This started to change around 2004 with the addition of the lottery system when conquer made the transition from Conquer Online 1.0 to Conquer Online 2.0. Things only kept going down hill from this point as they started to break the balance adding talismans and other pvp breaking items.
Eventually Conquer Online changed from a brutal pvp game into a cookie cutter game. The pvp of being able to kill white names while your black named and the top PKer board became useless because killing white names no longer would give you points and you would be set to jail once you hit 100 points. The item mall was added with any item that you might desire to be buyable. Sockets could be made using Dragon Balls in market it was no longer hard to make the +10 weapons since you could easily get + stones to easily make them.
When ninja class was added pvp was farther ruined with the addition of toxic fog causing a persons health to drop down to 1 and then they could be killed by even a low level player. Monk farther hurt things like guild wars because you could get chained to the floor and unable to ressurect unless someone unchained you. The constant and continual unresolved botting problems also played a major part in the ruining of the game. And but to TQ if a person paid enough they could get there characters out of the bot jail or just make another character and continue doing the same thing.
Then people on Conquer Online's forums had enough they wanted a Conquer Online 1.0 server back before all the corruption but TQ would not listen to what they wanted even the Conquer Online Classic version continued to get just as corrupted as the main server. Unfortantly for the mass amount of people that loved Conquer Online 1.0 the server will never be going back to the day's before it got corrupted and unbalanced.
I have not been playing Conquer Online in a few years so the pirate stuff that was added I cannot comment on any of that but the game was ruined back in 2004. So I'm sure it has only falling farther down the hole. All of the things that made Conquer Online so much fun in the past has been taken away the value of making sockets because anyone can spend enough to just make them and all of the balance breaking that was done to the game the Dragon Souls and talismans. Even the fact that people who died could recover there dropped gear the smallest thing's are what made Conquer Online so enjoyable.
Most games now have not ended up using the same systems when it comes to the pvp because they frown apon ganking and many of the things that hardcore pvpers enjoy. Even games built around the pvp idea still think the carebear way and never create a system that people would enjoy because they can't deal with people complaining about it on there forums.
Pvp gaming has evolved over time and has gotten to be more carebear people are too afraide to kill low levels or get a bad reputation or maybe it is more that people feel games like this turns people into killers in real life but regardless of what our games are like people still kill other people. There was less violent acts back in 2003 when many of these types of games still existed.
But if your like me and reading this and you agree with it or played back during 2003-2004 chances are you enjoyed the pvp system that Conquer Online had and you've been searching the internet trying to find a game that provides the same type of system so you could enjoy that type of pvp gaming once again.
